I am looking for a reasonable patch clamp to use on 4" exhaust systems on a bus. The usual 4" X 4" long clamp is sometimes skimpy for the area to be covered. I have seen a 12" Long Patch Pipe priced at $20 on special, but I am wondering if there are other options available. The 1 I saw recently was offered by Bus-Ex in a flyer we received this summer. Perhaps a 6" or 8" would be adequate. Are there such options available?

I can't say anything about the patches you're speaking of. In my experiance, the exhaust pipe patches are more trouble than they are worth. Seems like I patched one hole and another quickly takes it's place. If the pipe is rotted through in one spot, there are two more spots that are almost through too. You just fixed the worst rot. Unless you're just looking for a cheap fix to get by for a short time, I would recommend replacement pipes. Another thought is the idea of gasing yourself with toxic fumes leaking through the pipe instead of being directed properly to the back.
