I had a set of Supersprings ordered for my 2003 6.0L Diesel F250 4x4 w/ FX4 package but they wouldn't fit because of the factory installed spacer as part of that FX4 package on the rear springs. I really don't want to put air bags on there 'cause I've had them before on an F150 and they're too much hassle. Only thing I can think of is to find some F350 single rear axle w/ FX4 package rear springs from a wrecking yard and have them installed on my truck. Do you think this will work or are there better options? Thank you!

The rear springs on a F250 and F350 single rear wheel, are the same from 1999 on. What spacer are you talking about? The FX4 is more about differnet shocks and skit plates. SuperSprings will work with the camper package that has the top overload springs. SuperSprings sets on top of that. I have that on my truck. See my pictures near the top of http://mrtruck.net/springs.htm

Mr. Truck, thanks for the reply. The shop where I purchased the Supersprings told me they couldn't get them to fit on my truck because there was a "spacer" inserted at the rear springs. They said they could remove the spacer and make them fit but I told them to leave it alone 'cause that's how my truck came from the factory when I bought it. They even tried longer U-bolts but still couldn't get it to fit right. I'm guessing this spacer was part of the FX4 package that gives my truck the extra lift (can't remember if it's 2" or 4" lift)???

Hi again, I went to the Ford site at http://www.fordvehicles.com/trucks/superduty/features/ downloaded the broshure and it's as I remembered, just Rancho shocks and skid plates other than in the cab features. If you have the camper package, there is a spacer between the normal spring stack and the top overload. That doesn't effect using SuperSprings, it just sits on top of the overload spring. Any other spacing might have been a lift kit someone else put on your truck, but it didn't come with the Ford FX4 package. For air bags I like Firestone Ride Rites better than Air Lift. Of course I like SuperSprings better than air bags. Hellwig sells an aftermarket overload spring also.

I actually called the Supersprings Factory Tech line and spoke with a very nice gentleman named Mike. He said the problem was not with the Supersprings but with the fact the shop was trying to use an installation kit. Mike stated my truck did not require the installation kit and bolted directly to the top of the factory overload spring as you stated. Mike also said these would definitely work on my truck and it was the easiest intallation of all. He said to make sure to get Supersprings Model SSA-16 so I have called another place and they've ordered them and will install as well. Hopefully they'll work this time! And yes, my truck does have the camper package on it and came with that spacer from the factory - I bought the truck brand new from the Ford dealer. Thanks for your help Mr. Truck!
