Hi. Can anyone tell me about gas mileage in domestic trucks? My brother-in-law is convinced he needs a 3/4 ton (not one ton), 2WD (not 4WD), standard transmission (not automatic) truck because of the big difference in gas mileage.
This is very difficult to find since most domestic trucks are 1ton, 4WD and automatic... Is he right that the above 3 factors all make a difference and, if so, do you know which are the most significant?? ( My little nephews are currently driving in a tiny extended cab without proper seatbelts so I am keen for them to find a crew-cab soon!!!) I have suggested diesel to him but he has heard that diesel engines (except for "cummins" are very expenxive to repair if they break down(?).... I would greatly appreciate any knowledge/advice anyone can offer!!! |
