I just came from a dealership seeking to purchase a F150 4x4 Off Road 126" wheelbase and was shocked to find out that this truck was not reated for a snowplow and infact if one was installed that factory warranty would be voided. Is this true?

Truck manufactures have a thing against snow plows. You'll find most of them against it on 1/2 tons. Snow plows aren't as popular as a decade ago, so the demand isn't driving the snow plow option. 3/4 ton's are more in a commercial catergory, so that's where the factory snow plow option is offered. In the late 90's, the air bags were an issue with snow plows. I was supprised that snow plows were not recommended by GM on Quadrasteer. Quadrasteer on a truck with a snow plow rocks!
