I'm new here but there looks to be a lot of good information.

I'm currently in the market for a 3/4 ton diesel. I would prefer crew cab, as I will need to haul the kids occasionally. Also would prefer to stay around $16K so I'm think somewhere between a 00-03 with about 100K on it.

I've owned 3 fords(gas) all of which have had weird electrical trouble. So I'm a little leary to buy another one.

I've never had trouble of any kind with the GM(gas) trucks I've owned. But I've read that the Duramax was junk....

I've never owned a Dodge, but I hear the Cummins is the best engine but everything else about dodge is junk....

So one thing is clear somebody is wrong, but who?

Which do you recommend and why? ( FORD, GM, DODGE)

I've not heard the Duramax being "Junk" I have heard of injector problems at the 100K mark.
Even so, The Duramax gets my nod for being mated to the Allison transmission.

I bekieve hosspuller is a GM man and is prejudice toward the Duramax. From what I hear right now fuel economy wise duramax does have ford beat. Chevy finally did get there duramax down right but it take them awhile and this is the 1st diesel ( true diesel ) that Gm has had. Never the less ford did still have the best with the 7.3 Powerstroke and Dodge cummins has been around forever, The ford diesel now has the power but the fuel economy sucks
