I'm thinking about buying a 1991 ford F350 four door, eight foot bed, four door, 7.3 diesel, dually, two wheel drive, and if i buy it i thought about taking the duals off and finders to make it single wheels in the back. I know others done this because they wanted the heavier axle. Is this a good thing or bad? Will it ride different? Will it affect the towing at all? What will it cost if i did it myself?

Hi Nick ...
The answer is... Depends on what you're going to use the truck for. I would not do it. The duals are critical to the load capacity of the truck. You could get a super single tire. But it'll cost a small fortune. And, you'll lose the stability and redundancy of the duals. You are taking a 1 ton truck and turning it into a 3/4 ton truck. |

Nick.. You're welcome...
Sounds like a 3/4 ton truck would serve you well. It'll do for small GN too. Just not a 4 horse with 14 foot LQ. |
