Mr. Truck, I have heard some fantastic claims about changing chips or re-programming them. I have a 2005, Chevy 2500 HD 4x4 that we use almost exclusively to pull a goosneck horse trailer. We pretty much get 8-9 miles a gallon of gas whether we pull or just drive to the feed store.

I have been told that I can change or reprogram a chip and get BETTER mileage and MORE POWER.

I am skeptical, so say the least. Can you respond or tell me where I can look up so me good information on this?

I've seen Dodge Cummins diesel improve with Edge modules, but I haven't seen as much improvement with GM and Ford. Most programers use to claim 10% fuel ecomonmy improvement but are now claiming 5%. 5% is so small it would take years for a programer, module or chip to pay for itself. You can get CAI, bigger exhaust and chips and with all three only get 10%. Those mods help with throttle response and power but not consistant with fuel economy improvements.
