TRUCK IS 97 F250 7.3 4X4 WITH 241000 ON IT. PROBLEM IS ROUGH IDLE NO POWER ON TAKE OFFS TILL I HIT 2500 ON TACK AND FUEL MILAGE LOW AND EXCESSIVE SMELL OF DIESEL IN EXHAUST WHEN IDLING SO BAD IT BURNS YOUR EYES OUT SIDE. ANY ANSWERS OR SIMPLE FIXES.
I don't have a clue what your problem is but I wonder if this site has any useful purpose. Maybe it just takes patience to get someone to notice you have a question. I am going to take my truck and have a computer get the codes. Then go from there...good luck.

Sorry for the late response. Are the injectors factory? Souns like you may have one or two, or more, going bad. Easiest way to test without a computer is with an infrared thermometer if you have one, hitthe exhaust ports ne at a time and the cooler ones will be your trouble cylinders. Next method would be to remove the valve covers and unplug the injectors one at a time and listen for the idle to change, no change, bad injector. Valve covers on a 97 aren't hard at all to remove. If you find a few holes that are bad, check out the article on DIY injectors here on Mrtruck. They have a kit to overhaul al 8 at a fracton of the cost of replacing them. Let me know what you find.
