The PS's are loud, it will be louder. But with less restriction, you'll also have more turbo lag.

I disagree. I have and aftermarket downpipe going into a 4 inch straight pipe and it isn't any louder than the stock exhaust. I love it, egt's went down and boost went up just by doing the exhaust. I say do it!!

I wish my boost went up. I changed the stock exhaust to 4 inch with a low restriction muffler and a CAI and the only thing that raised my boost on the 06 PS was adding a Preditor, but that caused other problems. Maybe I should take my muffler off. I just noticed more turbo lag with the new exhaust. The 7.3L PS have max torque at 1600 rpm and the 6.0L have it at 1800, maybe thats why. The new 6.4L twin turbo for 08 that I towed with in January has max torque at 2000 rpm. I would have thought that would go lower like Dodge/Cummins did, they went from 1800 down to 1400 rpm.
