I was reading on a RV web pagwe that in Calf. and Canada the only Desiel availbe will be the new Loow Sulphur! Also, I have notice in my home state that most pumps say they are 2007 Low Sulphur! Is this going to be a problem with older Diesel units? I have a 2000 F350 Powerstroke! Is an additive going to be necessary like weh we went form Regular gas to unleaded?

Welcome to the forum . TJO

You ask a valid question. The ULSD or S15 is less lubricating than previous low sulpher diesel

see this site. http://www.chevron.com/products/prodserv/fuels/diesel/ulsd.shtml#A12

It depends on the time you're going to keep the PS. By 2010, all the diesel fuel will be ULSD.
Before then, you'll be able to buy S500 somewhere.

My real question is there a good additive I should be using with low sulphur diesel? I have not seen any except on the Internet!

I've been told by the Ford Execs that the LSD and ULSD has additives in it for lubricity on the older vehicles. I've been assured that it will not harm our older trucks.

Is this fuel readily available now? We are ordering our 350 ford this week and plan to pull horses and trailor on several week trip out west(Colo and Utah) would be bad if the diesel Low Sulfur is not available everywhere as these trucks really dont like to pass up many gas stations. Wink

90% of the pumps in Colorado now are ULSD due to the '08 emission standards. There won't be any problem burning it in your truck.
