Welcome to the forum . TJO You ask a valid question. The ULSD or S15 is less lubricating than previous low sulpher diesel see this site. http://www.chevron.com/products/prodserv/fuels/diesel/ulsd.shtml#A12It depends on the time you're going to keep the PS. By 2010, all the diesel fuel will be ULSD. Before then, you'll be able to buy S500 somewhere.

I've been told by the Ford Execs that the LSD and ULSD has additives in it for lubricity on the older vehicles. I've been assured that it will not harm our older trucks.

Is this fuel readily available now? We are ordering our 350 ford this week and plan to pull horses and trailor on several week trip out west(Colo and Utah) would be bad if the diesel Low Sulfur is not available everywhere as these trucks really dont like to pass up many gas stations.

90% of the pumps in Colorado now are ULSD due to the '08 emission standards. There won't be any problem burning it in your truck.
