What axel ratio would be the best for a F-350 / 6.0 PS, std tires LT245/75Rx17E. I'll be hauling a Sundowner 727 4 horse. 3.73 , 4.10 / 4.30 limited slip.

Thanks

4.10 is a good al around gear for most applications. 3.73 will get you a higer top speed and possibly a little better fuel mileage but you will sacrifice power at take off from stops. Wit 4.30 you will be able to pull anything you hook on to but wil sacrifice top end and a little mileage. I would go 4.10, that's what I have in my truck and it works great for me.

Hi, Jake gives good advice, if your truck is a single rear wheel diesel F350, 99 or newer, you can only get the 3.73 axle from the factory. If you have a F350 dually, then you can get the 4.10 as an option. The F350 dually has larger brakes and one size larger Dana axles and in 4x4 sits a couple of inches lower than a 4x4 f350 SRW.

Copy all, 4.10 Lim slip.
Wanted to throw another one at ya to ensure I'm not missing something big. Im going to purchase a King Ranch F350 DRW with the 6.0 Powerstroke, I'll be towing a 2005 Sundowner 727 4 horse, 4 x 8 dressing room.

I'm going to order the installed brake controller and some other small things that have nothing to do with towing. My only real question was the axel raio.. Now that I have that, is there anything else in your opinion that I need to be concerned about / need to order on it. Dual alt ? ??
Thanks

Hi, I'd get the camper package and not dual alternators. If you were turning the truck into an RV, maybe. But dual alternators were just for ambulances and then some bright marketing vp at Ford thought they could make some money buy offering it as an option. The second alternator is underneath, hard to get to, uses a longer more expensive belt and you don't need it. If your Sundowner had a LQ and towed it full time, I might go for the Boss Command option with the 4.30, but your trailer won't weigh close to 19,000#'s loaded, you're probably under 14K.
