I have a 2004 Ford Explorer 4 door 4x4 with a 4.0L V6. It has the tow package with a class three hitch, and 3.73 LS axle. Currently I tow a pop up camper with a weight about 2000lbs with no problem. I am looking to purchase a Travel trailer (Trail-Cruiser 30qbss), which has a dry weight of 4250lbs. From what I can find my explorer is rated to tow about 5300lbs. I have a few questions is someone can help. How much problem do you think I will have pulling this camper with the V6 engine? What hitch would be the best for weight and control, and what brake controller? Thanks
