I have 96 blazer 4.3l 2dr 4w/d. thinking about a 2004 rockwood roo, 21ss. hitch wt 353, dry wt 3,498, gvwr 4,753. I have an equalizer hitch and tru cool max trans cooler. Do you see any problems towing this camper. any suggestions. The blazer is 5000lb capicity, 500lb hitch wieght. Not looking to win any land speed records, just don't want to break anything. Thankfully uncle ownes and aamco. Would rather not have to call in a favor.

Welome to the forum. By the numbers you're okay.
Only suggestion would be to use the severe duty maintenance schedule for the Blazer. Change the engine, cooling, and transmission fluids. Keep the radiator and belts in good condition. Heavy loads generate lots of heat. Make sure the various systems at not handicaped. Change your driving style to "little ole lady going to church". The Blazer is a short wheelbase vehicle. It'll be twitchy with rapid steering inputs. |
