I currently own a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad-Cab, 5.7L Hemi with a 6.25ft bed; 2WD; automatic transmission. I am looking at purchasing a travel trailer with a weight of 9200lbs. This purchase includes load stabilizers/anti-sway bars, a class IV hitch and trailer brakes. With/without purchasing a new chip for my vehicle, how would I fare with towing this trailer? If this is o.k., what about a transmission cooler?

Do you have the factory tow package which should come with a external tranny cooler? If you have the lower axle ratio, (3.92), you can pull it, but that's a heavy trailer for a 1/2 ton and I think you are over loaded by a 1000 lbs plus. If you tow occasionally on flat roads, if it were me, I'd do it, but if you tow every month or in mountains, I wouldn't.
