Hi MrTruck, I have been searching the internet for information on the options I may have for hauling a 5200 lb boat and trailer, with surge brakes and approx 300-400 lb tongue weight. I have a 1996 Dodge 3500, diesel, automatic, with a Lance 1161 slide in truck camper, a Reese Class V hitch and a Reese 42" extension bar. The class V hitch 2 1/2" receiver has a WD 14000#, WC 12000#, Tongue WD 1700#, WC 1200#. With the 42" extension that drops to WD 7500#, WC 5000#. Now my problem. The extension is not long enough to clear the bumper. Measuring from the center of the pull pin to the end of the bumper I need an additional 13 1/2". My question is what can I do to get this to work? I was looking at your web site, by the way....VERY NICE SITE, and not sure what I need to do. Thank you. Lanny

Thanks for your kind words. You need a one piece extension long enough. I know you have your reciever and it's going to be expensive but, Torque Lift has a class V reciever that is douple tubed stacked on top of each other with chains on the side and has the longest reach for a slide in camper. Their website is, http://www.torklift.com/super_hitch.htm though their longest extension is 48 inches, still not long enough.

Thanks for the information. I had been on their web site and have been pricing them. Guess that is the route I will be going. Again thanks.
