So heres the scoop. My 1994 dodge 1500 has a 5.2 V8, 5 speed Manual transmission, Heavy duty aftermarket drive shaft, 3:90 gear ratio, 110,000 miles, pretty stiff Rancho suspension, and runs great as far as I am concerned. I just want to know that if I start towing am I going to have any problems or troubles with the truck... and am I going to run it into the ground any time soon. Here is what I want to tow:

a Haulmark 7x16 enclosed cargo trailer with a curb weight of just over 2000lbs. It has tandem 3500# axels with 4 wheel electric breaks. It can be seen here:

There will be no more than 2000lbs loaded in the trailer at any time while it is in tow. The trailer can hold about 5000lbs total with the tandem 3500# axels.

I dont think I will have any problems with it and I will not be towning long distances. Just locally. With the electric breaks and my truck as is, does anyone have any objections to me making this trailer purchase... I know that every dodge is made to be able to handle towing 2000lbs stock on the rear step bumper. I obviously have a hitch... but with the 2000lb part in mind I figure this should be a cake walk...

Sounds fine, the weak spot will be the clutch on a 1/2 ton, but that's not too much weight for your truck.
