I have a BP 4-horse slant load trailer, small tackroom, no living quarters. When you are just taking two horses where do you want them to ride in the trailer to distribute the weight properly? And if you're taking one horse, would you put it at the front or above the axles?

You'll have to try a few positions. Each trailer is unique for loading. Too little hitch weight and the trailer will sway. Too much hitch weight and the truck will sag in the back. You do want the trailer to ride close to level if it has torsion axles. Otherwise the axles & wheels will be unevenly loaded.
