Hey,
I work delivering semi tractors and I'm having trouble finding a universal hitch to install on the back of a bobtail (semi tractor)frame.I want to cut down on costs and down time and tow my own mini pickup via tow bar behind the tractor.
I looked at all kinds of sites on the internet and found nothing! I know they are made because I have seen them.
Thanks Trucker.

Come on nobody has any idea where to get one of these hitches??
I'm sure you have seen a semi tractor bobtailing down the road pulling a pick up behind!
There has got to be someone out there selling these hitches.

The RV industry had many towable hitches. You would need a reciever hitch attached to the Semi frame. Some states and Canada require the towed vehicle to have brakes activated by the hitch. http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/rv-tow-bars-dollies/tow-bars-eaz-lift.htm

If I were taking delivery of a new semi-tractor, I wouldn't like to see a hitch clamped to the frame... Scratched paint and all.

Perhaps you could have a tow bar built that would latch to the 5th wheel plate. Have its own king pin and bearing plate. Would look like a gooseneck attachment to the towed vehicle. Make a harness to adapt the p/u trucks lights to the standard trailer connector of the tractor.
Hey.. maybe a new product idea... What would someone like yourself pay for such a hitch?
