We have a 31 ft travel trailer that weighs 6900 lbs empty. We've been towing it with a 2002 Suburban 1500 and it's o.k. but the Chevy is really working. We're considering purchasing the 07 Tundra after reading your review. We compared different models and on paper the Toyota has more horsepower and Torque than even some of the 3/4 ton pu's. The Tundra's GVCW is 16,000 lbs.. Our trailers' GVW is 9600 lbs. Would you think the Tundra is our best option?

Hi.. Welcome to the forum. I'm sure Mr. truck will respond soon... I would advise you to compare the CGVWR of the various trucks to your old Chevy.
If horsepower and torque were the only factor, Porsche would be swamped with orders with the optional B&W hitch. The CGVWR considers brakes, gear ratio, hp among other factors. |

I noticed you guys were comparing the Tundra to the other vehicles and then I noticed that KARBS1256 bought a Duramax instead. Can anybody explain why? I have been looking at the Tundra and everything looks goood other than the weight of hte vehicle seems a little lite. Any comments
