I have an '02 F250 Lariat 7.3 Turbo Diesel engine. What is the maximum towing capacity? I plan on purchasing a 2 horse trailer with 10ft SW Living Quarters. The empty weight of the trailer is 7913 lbs. Can this truck handle it?

Your truck will pull it... But will the hitch weight be too much? Compare the loaded trailer's hitch weight with the payload of your truck. A rule of thumb is the hitch weight is 25% of the loaded trailer weight. Guessing at 1000# per horse and another 1000# of camping stuff... 25% of 10,913 is 2728.25 pounds. Can your truck carry that weight?
