I have an Expedition 4x4 (Eddie Bower) and want to tow a Harley Davidson Heritage Softtail (about 800 lbs). I'm wondering what you think about the joey lift system, the pros and cons, or if it would even be OK for me to use at all.
See example on Ebay

Hi, I would say check with your Expedition owners manual to see if your reciever hitch has a capacity equal to the Joey lift and the weight of the bike. This is tongue weight, the Class 3 hitch with weight bearing drawbar will be 500 #'s. Weight distributing hitch could be 1000, but you can't had a wdh to just a hitch without trailer. Also you need to check on your rear axle weight rating. 2002 Expedition had mono tube rear axles, 2003 and newer are independent suspension and will move more with weight. The rear suspension is also coil springs not leafs, so there will be more movement. My opinion is the bike and carrier will be too much weight for your Expedition.
