I am a rookie in the horse world and have many hours reading teh forums on Horse Trailer World about 3h GN trailers towed by a half ton. I am getting a Exiss XT300 and I ahve been told by several people my truck will be fine. I will never haul more than two horse in it. I will be trading it in one day for a 2500, but I would like to know your thoughts. Do the Super ZSrings help with pay load capacity or jsut distribute the weight better? Any guidance or suggestion s would be greatly appreaciated...Thank you..
Hi, the 5.3L is spunky, just doesn't have the torque of the 6.0L. 3.42 is awfuly high axle ratio. But the engine can tow 2 horses. If your loaded weight isn't over 6000 lbs on flat ground you'll be OK.
