I recently bought a used 2H BP trailer. I believe it is a Cotner model.
I have no title for it...trailer was bought in SC. I cannot find the VIN# anywhere, not on the tongue, the inside. Does anyone know anywhere else a VIN# would be stamped? If not, how do I go about titling a trailer with no VIN? |

Hello Brooke, welcome to the forum.
If you're sure it's a Cotner, contact them. If the name plate is missing, perhaps they can identify it from the axle serial numbers. Here's a link to their site. >> http://www.cotnertrailers.com/ Otherwise, You don't say what state you're in so I can't give you specific help... But, registering it as a home built trailer is a possibility. |

I live in NC, however I am a FL resident.
I sent Cotner an email...no reply yet, hopefully they will get back to me this week. Where are the axle serial numbers? |

On the axle... You'll have to crawl under the trailer and look. Bring a flashlight and a rag. Sometimes a metal plate, sometimes just a number stamped on the axle. A piece of chalk rubbed on the stamping then wiped might help to read the numbers. |

Ok, a few more questions as my search yesterday revealed nothing.
Serial #'s on the back axle, or the front? Any particular side? Near a wheel, or in the middle? |

Likely to be around the middle of the axle beam. (That's where my trailer's Dexter brand axle # is)
Did Cotner ever respond to you? A phone call should get you some kinda answer. |
