I have ridden horses for many years and am biting the bullet to buy a used truck and trailer. What type of truck would folks recommend to pull a 2 horse trailer assuming average trailer weight- have not bought anything yet. I am a total novice an do not understand all the weight load stuff. I plan to buy a hitch rather than gooseneck trailer.

Welcome to the forum.
Pick the brand of your choice... But chose a 3/4 ton truck. That means a 2500, 20, 250 or some such. The 1/2 ton trucks are numbered as 150, 10 or 1000.

I found the 3/4 ton truck much more useful for hauling hay and stuff. Depending on your area... hills or mountains you'll want to consider rear axel ratios. Where are you headed?

thanks- I am starting to look and someone nearby has a 3/4 ton truck and a trailer for sale although I think the trailer is more than I need and can afford. Can not recall truck brand though.........maybe a GMC. I wish I was rich......these things are not cheap .I live in CT along the coast .
