Hello, I am looking at a 4 horse gn with living quarters, the weight on the trailer is 9000#, We plan on hauling 3-4 horses. My husband has a 2002 GMC 2500 HD crew cab (gas) Will his truck haul this trailer or do I either have to find a lighter trailer, or a heavier truck. He really doesn't want to get rid of his truck, and I really don't want to be a two truck family.

If you end up being 13,000 #'s loaded, it would be nice to have a diesel. But the 8.1L gas engine with the Allison will tow it. The 2002 HD 2500 is rated for that much weight with the 4.10 axle. But don't do it with the 6.0L gas engine.
