I've just found out that my Ponderosa 18' gooseneck stock combo has car tires on it rather than 8 ply trailer tires.
I am scheduled in 2 weeks to take one horse to a clinic about 2 hours away from where I live - I will be driving on the highway. The tires on it are new and are not dry-rotted. I am a rookie trailer owner looking for friendly advice as to whether I should replace the trailer tires before I go or if I'm OK waiting until late November when I get my year end bonus. Money is not necessarily the issue - my horse's safety is - but it would definitely be more convenient and less financial burden at the moment to wait. Thanks for your thoughts! Erin Columbia, SC |

If you have P rated tires, check the side wall and see what the tire load rating is in pounds and then see if the 4 of them are near your trailers GVWR.
