I bought a 1974 Hartman 2H bp trailer with a dressing room...nice trailer. I pulled it home with my Tahoe from AL-TN-KY-TN-VA.. Ok so I took the long way ( I was also looking at two horses) No problem until up the last steep long incline and it smelled...and I don't mean of the one small horse I had in it. My question is how do you determine how much a vehicle can tow??? The trailer does have dual axles w/ brakes on both as well as sway bars and break-away emergency brake. Would I be better off with a 1984 Double "L" Livestock brand ( I was told a Lite Line) GVWR 7000lbs?
Thanks,

Welcome to the forum trailerider...
The first consideration to how much can a particular vehicle tow is the Combined Gross Vehicle Weight Rating or GCVWR. This number will be in your manual somewhere. This is the maximum weight of the trailer and vehicle "Combined" Any less weight than the GCVWR will make the rig less "Stinky" any more and you're overloaded. The trailer info you posted is irrelevant. Most horse trailers have similar features. We'll need more info on your Tahoe and trailer to answer anything else.
