We are about to purchase our first horse trailer. We will be using an 03 Durango with a Class III hitch and a maximum of 4,600# towing capacity. We need to locate trailers that are < 2000#, hold 2 horses (16.5 hands). I did read the Brenderup recommendations already posted on your site, but wondered if there are other options available?

There are other European type trailer builders. But, Brenderup is the most widely supported and known. 16.5 horses are pretty large and heavy to cram into a small trailer. A conventional trailer sized for two large horses will be over your towing capacity.
Be careful, consider several options whatever trailer you chose.

Can you tell me who else makes European type trailers?

Kat .. Sorry .. I don't know of any nation wide Euro trailer distributed other than Brenderup.

What part of the country are you in?

I am very happy with my WW trailer; it weighs 1850#...nothing fancy, pretty much bare bones, but nice, well made. They had taller, wider models that weren't too much heavier than this one when i was looking. They're made in OK but i'm sure there are distributors all over. I'm in AZ. Good luck.
