I traded in my 2 horse for a 3 horse slant about a year ago. I tow with a 1995 F150 with a tow package. Despite the age, the truck has only 55K miles. I have noticed that when I hook up the truck and trailer the truck bed really sinks. Do you think I need new springs, or a new weight distributing hitch, or to get a gooseneck trailer? I believe the truck is rated to tow at least 9000lbs, maybe more. Trailer and horses are about 7000 lbs. Any thoughts? Thanks. Cowgirl

"Sagging rear end" sounds like a country song. I wouldn't haul more than 7000#'s with your truck. Horses are not like the solid cargo that the truck is rated for. The movement of high center of gravity horses would make the max load capacity scary. I would say of the three choices, that a good weight distributing hitch is the way I'd go. But it needs to have anti-sway built in to. A wdh will move the weight to all the axles, giving you a level load and better steering weight. Read my thoughts on wdh at, http://mrtruck.net/wdh.htm
