I am getting a GN trailer and want to support the rear suspension on my truck...which are "better" Super Springs or air bags? (Cost is not an issue.) It looks to me like SS's do everything airbags do but without the hassle. Does anyone have experience with either or both?
Also...my truck is an 03 Silverado 1500 w/5.3L engine, 3.73, w/towing pkg and quadrasteer. I read a review of an '04, the same truck stating tow capacity of 8600lbs. My owner's manual says my truck is rated at only 7500lbs. What's the difference, anyone know??

There is a reason we only sell SuperSprings and not the air bags. Had many offers to sell the air bags and do like Firestones Ride Rites, but Supersprings will automaticly adjust for load and work as a torsion stabilizer like an anti-sway bar. So the trucks ride both empty and loaded is improved, air bags can only control resistance up and down. My SuperSprings page is http://mrtruck.net/springs.htm

Kent, I am willing to give the super springs a try! Recently, we upgraded to a Hart trailer that is heavier than my previous one. It really squats down the 2000 Ford F-250! I need to level out my truck for better handling, lighting, etc. We were considering air bags, but I knew I should check on your site first and I ran across your super springs. My question is how do I know which model to order? There appears to be three choices for my model of truck.

Hi, the SSA13 is for a F250 without the camper package. SSA16 is what I use on my truck for the factory camper package which means the top overload that is spaced above the spring pack and has the bumpers riveted to the frame. SuperSprings sits on top of the top spring and fits in the U-bolts cap so you don't need a mounting kit. Just lift your truck up by the frame and the SuperSprings will just set inplace to easily attache the shackle bolts. Takes 30 minutes and you can leave the tires on. SuperSprings have a lifetime warranty. You'll also notice the overall immproved ride. Thanks

Thanks, Kent. I just placed my order and noticed that I have already received a confirmation, a shipping number and an expected date of delivery! That was fast!!

Because I'm a klutz with tools, I plan on taking the SuperSprings to my local, trusted mechanic so he can get them installed in a jiffy.

I'll report back when they are installed and I have a chance to give them a test loaded and not under load.

UPDATE: As you can see, it took me awhile to get around to getting this task accomplished! But, the deal is done and WOW, the truck looks great with the SuperSprings installed. The local mechanic put them in with no issues. If I had an easy way to lift up the truck, I think even I could have done it. BTW, the folks at the SuperSprings tech line are great, especially Jerry. I called them to make sure I fully understood how they should be installed. Then, I went to their website and watched a brief video clip. I'm telling you, that was a good video.

Tomorrow we will be hauling the big trailer to Missouri for a Labor Day Weekend ride. I'll let you know what difference the SuperSprings make on the haul. But, I can say that I already feel the difference when empty and I really do like the look!

All is working well with the Super Springs, but I do have one question for Mr. Truck.

Do you have a source for a SuperSprings decal I might put on my truck? I know they included one in my package, but I have lost it. :-(
