I have a 25 ft travel trailer and am a full timer so I travel through some dangerous terrain. My budget is tight and I have narrowed it down to a 2002 dodge durango v8 or a 2003 ford explorer v8 can anyone tell me if either of these will tow my trailer which weighs 4500lb unloaded. they are rated to tow 7300lb is that enough? could either of these handle mountains, hills, dirt roads, rough terrain etc. any info is greatly appreciated!!!
That year of Durango was a big improvement, my review at http://www.mrtruck.net/durangoiceschool.htm Get the 5.7L Hemi. The Durango has longer wheelbase than the Explorer and I think tracks wider. My only complaint of the new Durango in 2003 was the heavy hood with no struts.
